Carson is in his 3rd year as the Goalie Coach for the UOIT Ridgebacks Women’s Hockey Team and his 4th year with the Clarington Eagles Junior C Hockey Team. The Clarington Eagles have won the award for Top Goaltending Duo of the Year the past 2 years in a row.

Carson was also the Goalie Coach for the 2 GTHL Teams (Team GTHL Red and Team GTHL Blue) this past year at The OHL Gold Cup. Which included Team GTHL Red winning Gold.

Carson Bird Goalie School is Head of Goalie Development for the Stouffville Clippers Minor Hockey Association, Unionville Minor Hockey Association, Newcastle Minor Hockey Association, Clarington Toros Hockey Association, Oshawa Minor Generals Hockey Association, Clarington Flames Girls Hockey Association, and the Clarington AAA Toros Hockey Association.

Carson has AAA experience as well as Junior A and Junior C experience. Over Carson’s playing history he has been invited to attend the Ontario Under 17 Selection Camp as well as the Oshawa Generals OHL Main Camp.

Carson has always been a quick learner which has helped him understand the position of goaltending. Whether you are at the house league level or a higher level, Carson knows what it takes to get to the next level.

Carson played for the Whitby Wildcats house league as a forward and occasional goalie up and until Minor Peewee where he made the decision to switch to being a full time goalie. The next year in Peewee, Carson tried out and made the AE team. His team that year finished 1st and went to the OMHA finals. The following year Carson attended his first rep tryouts, where he incredibly made the jump from AE to AAA in his second year of goal (Minor Bantam Year.) In a matter of 2 years Carson went from a House League forward to a AAA goalie. That year he split the playing time with the other goalie, helping the team end up in 1st Place and make it to the OMHA AAA Championship Weekend.

Carson has experienced the excitement of making the jump to a higher level, and knows what it takes to get there. Now he wants to help others make that jump.

Carson loves working with goalies and helping them improve.  No matter what level you are, you can always improve, and for the goalies at a lower level, maybe all you need is that little bit of help to get to the next level.

At Carson Bird Goalie School we relate all of our teaching to the most current style of play. We focus on butterfly techniques while implementing a hybrid mindset, as well as rebound control and proper positioning at all times from all different angles. Proper positioning makes the hard stops easy and controllable. See our Teaching Techniques page for a list of the many areas we focus and work on.
